Region 5 – Asia [Mongolia], and Region 6 – Central Asia
[Kyrgyzstan]. The members of the consortium of this project are:

ROMANIA

“Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava (Coordinator)

Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava is one of the most dynamic universities in Eastern Europe, offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education at a relatively low cost. USV is an innovative and complex public higher education institution, which offers undergraduate, master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral programs and conducts scientific research in the fields of economics, technical sciences, engineering and computer science, natural sciences, humanities and health. USV will be the project coordinator. Along with the other two EU HEI partners specialised in agriculture (UNITO, AUA), will be responsible for the compilation, designing and creation of the educational material.

GREECE

CreThiDev (Creative Thinking Development)

Creative Thinking Development (CRETHIDEV), is a nonprofit company that focuses on research, as well as the development of studies and action plans mainly in the fields of life-long learning, environmental protection, innovation, employment, local development, health, sports and culture. Through the exchange of knowledge and expertise, research and training collaborative projects and cooperation with universities, companies, public authorities, and training centers, we seek to create a knowledge repository and facilitate the networking and cooperation efforts among authorities, organizations, business associations, on a local, regional, national, European, and international level.  CRETHIDEV will be responsible for the quality assurance of the project, as well as the close monitoring of the implementation of the project.

GREECE

Agricultural University of Athens

The Agricultural University of Athens participates with the Department of Animal Sciences of Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) are participating as having strong research activity on the effects of climate change in livestock production. The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) is the third oldest university in Greece. It was established by law in 1920 as an Independent Higher Education Institute with university status named as the Highest Agricultural School of Athens. In 1989, it was renamed into Agricultural University of Athens and organized in seven independent academic departments. The AUA offers high level undergraduate and postgraduate education and research covering all sectors of agricultural science. They will pariticpate in the compilation, designing and creation of the educational materials, along with the other partners specialised in agriculture.

ITALY

University of Turin

University of Torino (UNITO) participates in the project with two departments, namely the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sciences and the Department of Veterinary Sciences. UNITO is one of the most ancient and prestigious Italian Universities and can be considered as “city-within-a-city”, promoting culture and producing research, innovation, training and employment. UNITO is today one of the largest Italian Universities, open to international research and training. It carries out scientific research and organizes courses in all disciplines, except for Engineering and Architecture. It is an integral part of the community, acting for reviving urban and suburban areas, promoting cultural interaction, social integration and development, encouraging dialogue and insight into current realities. UNITO will co-lead WP3 and offer guidance and experience to this WP leader (NSU) on the development of courses.

MONGOLIA

School of Agroecology & Business of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences

Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) has four leading research institutes and seven branch schools. The Institute of Plant and Agricultural Sciences /IPAS/ and the School of Agroecology & Business /SAB/ are the branch institutes and schools of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, which is located in Darkhan-Uul Province. These branches have been operated since 1948 and 1969 in the central cropping zone of Mongolia. The Darkhan branch campus has a unique structure, including research, training, and production. There have been considerable improvements in integrating research, education, and production activities. During the last 50 years, the IPAS has developed over 190 varieties belonging to over 80 crops, and about 80 varieties are widely grown throughout the country. SAB implements educational programs in 18 areas of bachelor’s degree, in 6 master’s programs and in 1 PhD program. SAB, MULS which will be the leader of WP2, supporting the implementation of the activities in the direct beneficiaries’ countries (Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan) and in Europe with the constant support of AUA.

MONGOLIA

Eco Asia Environmental University

The private university ECO-ASIA Environment University (EAU) is a university specialising in environmental studies, and as such, it will push the project one step forward towards forest and agricultural landscape conservation, that require an innovative approach in tackling current challenges of climate change. EAU was established in 2000 as a non-profit, nongovernmental organization to assist to decision makers and scientists at national and local level, and public, private sector to carry out reform on environmental policy, capacity building, scientific researches and practical activities in the field of environmental protection and management of natural resources through information and knowledge dissemination to better understand the environment and natural resources and their sustainable use. This partner will be responsible for leading WP5, Dissemination and Exploitation.

MONGOLIA

Soil Habitat

Soil Habitat (SOH) is a non-governmental organization, focuses on research and training activities, as well as development of studies in the fields of soil and environmental protection, innovation and working to build capacity development of farmers other stockholders and public through disseminating knowledge by conducting awareness-raising training and soil research guiding services accordance with the sustainable soil management and Climate change. Through this projects and cooperation with National, European universities, companies we will to create a new knowledge and networking. AgroLead (AGR) and Soil Habitat (SOH) will lead the process to collect the questionnaires by the farmers and agri-businesses

KYRGYZSTAN

S. Naamatov Naryn State University

Naryn State University (NSU) and in specific the Agrarian – Technical faculty offers courses of sustainable agriculture both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels which need to get updated. NSU implements educational programs in 29 areas of bachelor’s degree, in 4 master’s programs and in 5 PhD programs. International Relations Office (IRO) is a subdivision of the Naryn State University. The main purposes of IRO are: a) Development and support of relations of NSU with the international scientific and educational structures; b) promoting the development of projects and programs for improving the educational process. Priority areas for the development of scientific research at the university: school education, agricultural technologies, natural resource use, problems of energy; improving the efficiency of technologies, development of information technologies, development of production technologies, processing of environmentally friendly products. They will have a strong involvement in the quality assurance and reporting.

KYRGYZSTAN

Issyk-Kul State University after K.Tynystanov

Issyk-Kul State University (IKSU) is a powerful modern university that actively integrates into the global educational community. The department of natural sciences of IKSU took part in Erasmus+ project EGEA “Enhancing Green Economy in 3 countries of Asia (India, Kyrgyzstan and Nepal)” in 2018-2022. It offers courses on Climate Change and Sustainable Agriculture which have to be updated. The University occupies a leading place in the number of TEMPUS and Erasmus + projects. It cooperates with more than 80 educational institutions of the CIS and foreign countries, and hosts foreign volunteers, professors and students from other countries in the framework of different exchange programs. IKSU intends to make serious efforts for widening and developing ties with colleagues from other higher education and scientific research institutions at home and abroad. This partner will have an important role in WP3, where, based on the updated syllabi, material will be gathered, selected and uploaded onto the platform.

KYRGYZSTAN

AgroLead

AgroLead is a leading extension organization in the field of agriculture, working to build the capacity of agricultural producers, processing enterprises and other agribusiness actors in Central Asia through consulting, training, marketing and information services in accordance with the principles of Green Economy and adaptation to climate change. Agrolead implemented more than 150 agricultural projects from its establishment until now. AgroLead’s clients are smallholder farmers and large farms, agribusiness (input suppliers, trading companies and processing enterprises), cooperatives, formal and informal associations and groups in the agricultural sector, agricultural input and veterinary shops and more. They will strongly contribute to the process to collect the questionnaires by the farmers and agri-businesses. along with and Soil Habitat (SOH).

PORTUGAL

Instituto Politécnico do Porto (IPP)

Instituto Politecnico Do Porto (IPP) was selected to guide the development, use and training in ICT in collaboration with Virtual Campus (VC) a private company from Portugal. IPP and in specific the School of Engineering /ISEP, has extensive experience in lecturing programmes related to Renewable Energies as is the case of the MSc in Sustainable Energies. With the MSc in Sustainable Energies, ISEP trains engineers with specialized knowledge to plan and implementing sustainable strategies of energy production, distribution and management. The R&D GILT – Games, Interaction and Learning Technologies is a structure, located in ISEP, focused on the analysis, design, development and dissemination of the scientific and technical knowledge in the areas of Serious Games, Person-Machine Interaction and Learning Technologies. IPP will act as the project’s ICT expert and thus will develop the relevant outputs and transfer knowledge to the partner countries. In addition, IPP will have an active role in the development subtasks and will co-lead WP5- Dissemination and Exploitation along with EAU which will be the leader of this WP.

Virtual Campus Lda.

Virtual Campus (VC) is a development, training and consulting SME in the areas of Technology Enhanced Learning, Serious Games and Information Systems. Its vision is to actively promote the development of the Knowledge Society by supporting public and private entities in designing and developing strategies and projects that lead to increased societal benefits, always through the use of digital environments for Education and Training. Located in Porto, VC has strong partnerships with various Universities and Companies in the region and has successfully partnered with Local and Regional Authorities, enterprise associations and specialized companies. VC will be responsible for the development of the project’s identity, website and platform.
